Although the basic features and modules that come with cmScribe meet many people’s needs, other clients are looking for a little extra functionality. The following modules are available at an additional cost.

Intranet and Client Extranet

cmScribe offers the capability to create and manage a corporate intranet and client extranet, essentially giving you “private” sites for employees or customers. Both intranets and extranets provide a common, central point for sharing and collaboration among users working from external locations. And security measures such as firewalls and log-ins ensure that only registered and authenticated users have access to the sites.

Intranets are usually used for internal, employee-only communications. Uses and benefits of intranets include:
  • Enhanced productivity through easy and immediate access to internal tools and applications
  • Increased collaboration through online discussions and sharing of information
  • Greater efficiencies—intranets can help reduce the number of meetings, document revisions, and other resource-consuming activities that can cost your company valuable time and money

Document Repository

Document sharing using the web is becoming increasingly popular due to its ease of use and global scope. For companies with employees at multiple locations – whether it be four employees working from home or 4,000 employees in different international offices – document sharing is essential for many businesses. The document repository allows you to make downloadable documents available on your site and to assign them to either a public or private area. In the private area, your documents can be secured behind our intranet/extranet system, and you may man¬age any number of user log-ins and groups and distribute them as needed. Your authorized users in any location in the world can log in and view or upload documents in formats including PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and many more.

Threaded Discussion Board

This module lets users set up and participate in topical discussions that can be viewed by the public or only those users with the correct username and password authentication. This board can be integrated with the document repository so users can comment on and discuss a document in progress, making it an ideal way for employees at multiple locations to review important materials.

e-Commerce Module

This fully-featured e-commerce system allows you to promote and sell your products online. With our browser-based catalog and order management tools, you can quickly and easily manage a vast array of products and product variants. Features of the e-Commerce module include:

  • Shopping Cart System, including Customer Registration and Account Management
  • Catalog Management and Order Management
  • Unlimited Product Categories
  • Product Variants – size, color, dimensions, etc.
  • Multiple Pricing Structures and Sales Tax Calculation
  • Safe Credit Card Encryption (SSL) Integration
  • Customer E-Mail Notifications
  • Customized Discount Functionality
  • Flexible Shipping Structures and Shipping Notification via email for improved client relations
  • Donations Acceptance

Because commerce can be very complicated and different customers have unique requirements, the e-Commerce module can be modified to accommodate specialized needs. Costs vary and can be determined during the technical specification phase of a project.

Web-to-Print catalog generation, an extension to the e-Commerce module, is available optionally. This enables users to take their cmScribe content and repurpose it to create a high-resolution, print-ready catalog of the products on their cmScribe site. Users can select which areas of content they would like featured in the catalog and automatically assign print formatting attributes. When this file is imported into a print layout and design page template, the content and print attributes are recognized, and the content prints out as a formatted catalog. For users who need a print-based catalog, this feature can be an invaluable tool, as it ensures consistency between online and print content, reduces or even eliminates redundant marketing efforts, and ultimately saves time, money, and resources.

Geo-Locator

The Geo-Location system allows your site’s visitors to find your closest office locations by simply entering their zip code. Once a user enters the zip code, the system provides a list of locations sorted by “distance away.” Locations can be linked to driving directions from MapQuest, Yahoo! Maps, or Google Maps.

cmScribe Course Builder for CME, CE and training needs

Over the years, NetReach has worked with many clients to develop unique interactive educational programs. Because we understand the importance of continuing education (CE) to many different industries, we’ve developed cmScribe Course Builder. This robust module enables you to cost-effectively publish, edit, and deliver online CME, CE or training to internal and/or external audiences (i.e., employees, medical professionals, association or club members).

Authorized users may build content using simple text as well as graphics and interactive media such as video, audio, and Flash. Tests or reviews are also easy to create, and cmScribe can calculate user scores and provide test reporting and user statistic data. An e-commerce option enables online payment for course participation. In addition, materials such as handbooks and manuals may be uploaded and linked to a course. Unlike other content management systems, cmScribe allows for complete flexibility in the structure and visual design of the course material.

This module can either be integrated with the standard cmScribe package or purchased as a stand-alone module, separate from the cmScribe license.
