What is a Role License?

cmScribe uses a "role license" pricing scheme, versus the more common way software is usually licensed (typically by number of users or CPUs--a price structure that can multiply your costs quickly). A role is a job responsiblility. If one person is responsible for everything in the site, then only one role is needed, and you can have as many users as you need within that role. An example where multiple roles would be used, might be separating the roles of Marketing and Human Resources. HR is responsible for job postings and employee manuals and a content editor role is created that allows complete permissions to the HR part of the site, while preventing access to the rest. The content editor Marketing role has permissions to everything on the site except the HR area. To complete this scenario there needs to be a third site manager role that can access everything in the site. Again, there is no restriction on the number of users desired within any of these roles.
