NetReach's programming development team uses Microsoft's .NET Framework, which has been widely adopted (even in 2005, Bill Gates was able to claim over 92% penetration into the Fortune 100), has a large development user base, and a proven track record in the most demanding business environments.
In the past, creating an architecture that would allow third-party "plugins" and customizations was difficult, which caused many developers to develop workarounds to solve business needs. The .NET Framework allows for interoperability with other data sources, applications, systems, and programming languages. Our developers have been able to leverage the .NET Framework and C# to create a plugin architecture of their own. Thus, customizations to our core Content Management System (CMS) toolset, cmScribe can be made outside of the codebase. This gives us many advantages, not the least of which is allowing for no hassle upgrades, and no/low cost maintenance for even complex custom web applications.
Our development team works on the current version of .NET (which as of this writing is .NET Framework 3.5). The team is also currently working on .NET 4.0 (beta version) in our Research and Development environment to investigate and adopt those enhancements that improve coding efficiencies, function, user display, security, etc.
cmScribe Content Management System (CMS)
All of our current development projects are built upon our CMS, cmScribe. Our clients enjoy sophisticated pre-built functionalities in their projects, like user forms, RSS feeds, video/audio upload with a built-in player, and complete CMS control of their web property.
Custom Web Application Development
As mentioned above, because of the plug-in architecture built into cmScribe, we can customize the web-based software to address specific business needs and/or integrations. This provides our clients with several distinct competitive advantages:
- The cost efficiencies of an off-the shelf software solution.
-
Combined with the functional advantages of a custom programmed application:
- cmScribe allows complete flexibility for business logic customizations. Customizations are made outside of the underlying code base allowing us to upgrade without compiling, which eliminates code maintenance costs. Our network specialists are able to provide seamless, hassle-free upgrades to the CMS software, without disrupting the system’s customized operations.
- Delivered on a Rapid Application Development (RAD) schedule.
